This book is very beneficial, practical and has a lot of great advice. However, it would be recommended to read the entire book before implementing GREAT techniques which are revealed in the ebook. This is very important. Honestly, I have been struggling with my strong-willed, aggressive daughter for years. Gradually conflicts with our defiant child have brought division between my husband and myself. Thanks to this great book, we can both see the ride we are being taken on by our defiant child. Now we have the great recipes, right methods in parenting our stubborn daughter effectively. We are able to communicate our genuine love and concern for our teenage daughter (14-year-old girl), and seeing our child turn into an obedient, cooperative child instead of defiant, aggressive and disobedient!! After the second week of using these methods my child was pleasant, cooperative, obedient, and talking more. We are now seeing his sense of humor return and enjoying one another. This book was very to the point on what I need to work on. I need my girl back... This parenting stuff is not for the light hearted!!!
In appreciated the insights on emotionally what a teen needs but beyond that I didn't find this very helpful. There are many typos which is distracting and she writes as of everyone reading this has a husband to parent with. Also, the niavety of "some.days she won't even make her bed"... Seriously. If you have a truly defiant teenager this isn't the book for you.
This book is full of great ideas. I cannot wait to get started trying some of them with my family to see what progress we can make. Thank you so much!
I'm feeling rather suspicious about all these 5 star reviews. Maybe the author has a few valid points, but it's hard to say since the grammar is horrific. Maybe the printed version is better, but it should be a crime to sell something that is so poorly written.
This book is a shallow exhortation of "love and understand your teenage daughter more". There are way too many cases of "always" to make this a serious guide. 20 years of experience as a therapist may have been successful, but writing about it is a different matter.
